After seeing the work E.L.K. completed for their son and his family, this couple contacted ELK Construction to discuss some projects they were looking to have completed at their home.  We met with the couple to discuss their projects (updated bathroom, new kitchen and laundry room floor as well as better functionality for their laundry room) and determine a budget.  A proposal was prepared and presented to the couple, a price agreed upon and a start date was scheduled.

 

In addition to wanting to update the bathroom for aesthetics the couple wanted more room for storage, better ventilation and were looking to add a shower that had easier accessibility and added safety features.  The ELK crew removed the old tub, replacing it with a tiled walk-in shower, installing grab bars to assist with balance and a niche to hold their necessary bath items.  In addition to the shower, a new ceramic tile floor was laid. Ever mindful of the importance of functional (and stylish!) storage, a new larger vanity and shelving were installed, along with updated bathroom accessories and venting. 

 

In the kitchen and laundry room we replaced the old floor with new 12x24 ceramic tile giving the space a much larger feel and better flow. To create better accessibility for the laundry room storage closet we removed the old traditional pre-hung door and replaced it with a solid wood barn door that would not get in the way of accessing the storage closet. The couple added a stackable washer and dryer and we installed shelving to provide additional storage room.
