This Powhatan home had almost everything the homeowner could have needed or wanted when he purchased it in 2021. A year later he reached out to E.L.K. Construction about a project to convert a 224 square feet unfinished room on the 3rd floor into the home gym he was missing. Within the next few weeks, he would have the space he was looking for.

Over the existing 7/16” sub-floor E.L.K. installed new ¾” tongue and groove sub-floor to provide better structure to support the weights and exercise equipment. Seven wall receptacles, including one for the wall mounted television, and four-6-inch LED flush mount ceiling lights were installed. To ensure the room would be properly climate controlled, E.L.K. put in ceiling and wall insulation and then new return and supply ducts were connected the existing HVAC duct work. Upon completion of the drywall hanging and finishing the homeowner painted the room himself and then assisted E.L.K. in installing the vinyl plank flooring. The room was then finished with base trim and shoe molding.
